Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Appearance: Beautifully rounded face with large, dark round eyes and soft, floppy ears. Medium length, silky coat that may have a slight wave and feathering on the ears, chest, legs, feet and tail. Coat colour may be Blenheim - chestnut on a white background, Tricolour - black markings on a white coat with tan markings usually around the eyes and cheeks, Black & Tan - black coat with tan markings, or Ruby - a solid reddish-brown colour (sometimes with white markings).
Temperament: Cavaliers love to spend time on your lap but are lively, making friends wherever they go including children. They are a happy little dog, always wagging their tail, seeking companionship.
Lifespan: 9- 15 years
Height & Weight: Usually 30-33cm and 5 to 8kg
Maintenance: Medium. Cavaliers are average shedders and need brushing three times a week but bathing only when necessary. Cavaliers don't need to be clipped but you can trim the hair around the feet if you don't prefer the furry-footed look. Ears should be wiped clean to avoid infections and a daily walk is a must for the Cavalier, or a securely fenced yard with play sessions.
Recommended For: A person looking for a very devoted housedog, including families.
